I have convinced a few people at work to do this. Their point is, if we really want to do this, let's do it in a way that works. After receiving a few deliveries, USCIS will get the idea and direct it's lobby security to refuse all further flower deliveries. What's our plan for that situation?
How did the people who delivered nuts to CBS make it happen? The delivery was actually done via UPS. It's difficult to refuse a UPS packet in the security lobby! Should we send chocolates via UPS instead? It will be much more difficult to refuse deliveries of chocolates.
Media will not let it go...ALL THEY NEED IS NEWS!!! Which is new...Let us give a shot.

Dear Friend,
Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. it's not mine case. Clockwork reported some LUD for I140 some where. May be Aug 5? Not sure. But I think LUD of I140 doesn't matter. This is my personal opinion.

P.S I have also read that LUD is not an indication of anything related..but at this point, its been almost 2 months since the application was sent to attorney and absolutely no updates..so I am grasping at straws...:o

Folks have you noticed the options on dice when you have to fill up your profile. makes you choose if you are EAD or GC or Citizen or h1b or any other. Now, does it not create a situation where employers can filter you?
In all other websites like Monster, hotjobs etc... the choices are
(1) Authorized to work for any employer
(2) Authorized to work for currrent employer

which makes more sense.

thanks a lot guyz for all ur replies. My only concern is can they claim the GC expenses(lawyer fee and advertisement costs involved in PERM filing) as the expenses they incurred because of me leaving the company if they file a law suit using non compete. There is no other expense relocation, training or another kind of expense that company has incurred for me(not a single penny except h1b filing). and one more thing i want to let u know is that i am workign with the same client just changed my h1b to PF. Will that be a trouble??? As i have already mentioned earlier in the agreement of company A with PF when i joined the company clearly specifies that PF can take me immediately upon my termination with company A.

I was just wondering that how come only desi employers are branded as "blood sucking manicas" etc etc ..? Doesn't there exist same kind of breed from other nationalities ? if not, then question is why we desis are like that ? any idea ?
All the desi employers I ran into or my friends ran into turned out to be blood suckers. before that I was employed by an american company for 6 years and I had no complaint whatsoever.
I think most of us desis consider other desis to be inferior and treat them so.

I had been in US for 6 years and has a PD of October 2006, that means i have to wait a long time to get my GC. but i got my back up plans prepared. It tends to irriate me but the only way to solve is to get involved in some kind of activity. I would suggest get involved in IV. Atleast you will feel much better that you are helping a community that lead you to get your GC soon.
