I actually spoke to Customer service and I got 2 very different responses.
1. Wait till you are an old man and then the cards may just come !! (Just Kidding ) she actually said wait for 90 days.
2. Another CSR told me that the TSC is having technical issues and they are not able to access the Biometric information on approved 485's in their systems. She advised me to download Form I-90 from the USCIS site and fill that in and send it in - if you have a minor on the petition then also send 2 passport size pictures of the minor - this will allow them to access the Biometric screen when they process the I-90. We will get Biometric notices and the Minor will get the card - the Grown ups will get the Cards after the Biometrics are uploaded.
I have not done this - eventhough I downloaded the I-90 forms - I took a INFOPASS appt and if they suggest that I should do a I-90 then I can get that done right on the spot - I am carrying the filled I-90 with me. Anyhow I-90 is usually submitted to correct errors on the card or to replace a card - however this woman sounded quite knowledgeable - but then there are issues realted to where the I-90 should be sent - this is specially complicated if your case has been transferred a few times like mine was.
Best is to check with the guys/gals at Infopass -meeting.
All this was from the rep at the TSC - so not sure if this is applicable to all centers.

And she told him that she will put a request to upload the Biometrics to TSC ASAP which may take 3 to 4 days)

Folks, here is what I am able to gather by self employment
(1) One can be self employed
(2) 1099 or w2 - kinda tricky - most people I talked to do w2 and any profits they get after they take their salary are bonuses
(3) The job has to be legitimate - in the same or similar category - you must be doing duties that are similar in nature to your 140 petition
(4) What is meant by legitimate is - you must simply not be doing "nothing" - there must be income and you must be doing your duties.
Correct me if I am wrong

I AM going to face them, confront them, demand them to provide justice, if not I want them to REFUND every penny i have paid so far. If this "I AM" becomes "WE", half the battle won. Yeah! Its common sense dude! Lets keep the 50USD in pocket when one has job rather than contributing to a cause that might help keep the job or makes voice heard when a bad bill comes out.. Choice is yours and your friends. If you/your friends are expecting a GC because you paid 50$ towards this effort, I dont know what to tell. If you/your freinds are expecting to hold xyz accountable for every single penny of the donation, that is not the attitude that will bring US together.
Ask your friends to understand the word lobbying and advocacy efforts. How much work it takes to hire a firm and get strategic advise? How much a firm that advises strategically and positions the issue strategically charges per hr? If an IT consultant is charged at the rate of 100-200USD by a big consulting company, Imagine how much would a consultant such as these people on the hill charge? I dont know but I wont be surprised if its north of 500USD an hr.

It would be more effective if not effecient. You need not wait until the year end to issue visas, visas can be issued using a mathematical model which would allow old PD filers to get a visa ahead of others as soon as his case comes in and other criterias are fullfilled. Basically no one needs to wait for filing I485. People with old PD will get visa numbers first as soon as they enter the application.

If someone ports from eb3 to eb2 they should get the priority date of the day they were eligible to file an eb2 and not be able to carry the date from eb3.
Porting makes sense in a family based visa where your petitioner can file for an application while he is still a green card holder and then becomes a citizen which upgrades the beneficiary's category as well.
On an employment visa you file for an eb3 when you are eligible for an eb3 job, you file for an eb2 when you are eligible for an eb2 job. Why would you be able to jump ahead in the eb2 line when you were clearly did not have an eb2 job ? Just because you filed an application at some point of time in eb3 and waited a decade to get a better job doesn't mean someone else has to pay for your (pick one - laziness, ineptitude, lack of skill or lack of knowledge).
Most of IV Core is made of eb3 applicants and therefore there has never been any push from the core on this matter. And as someone said .. You ARE eating my lunch..

Just like not all EB3 folks are happy with change in spillover, all in EB2 may not be happy with the way Porting rule is set up. But at the end of the day the total no. of visas available is the same, whatever way it is distributed and unless legislative change is made, both EB2 and EB3-I will remain retrogressed anywhere between 5-15 yrs.

Most of IV Core is made of eb3 applicants and therefore there has never been any push from the core on this matter. And as someone said .. You ARE eating my lunch..
That's the way the rule is set and it doesn't matter if it makes 100% sense or not. Just like not all EB3 folks are happy with change in spillover, all in EB2 may not be happy with the way Porting rule is set up. But at the end of the day the total no. of visas available is the same, whatever way it is distributed and unless legislative change is made, both EB2 and EB3-I will remain retrogressed anywhere between 5-15 yrs.

Now you are going to protest porting..do u have a slightest idea of how it is to wait for 10 years in the GC queue. This is not because people were not eligible for EB2 at that time, but rather due to the lawyer and employer mess ups. And there is no wrong in someone going to the front of the queue if they were able to prove that they are eb2 worthy..

Employers and their law firms many a times screw up deliberately.....
If they apply for Eb3 then that guy gets stuck with that consulting firm for like 10 more years ! Which employer doesn't want that !!! Many of my friends have got stuck in EB3 lines due to employer/lawyer deliberate-goofups !! If they leave the company, they risk the money they gave for previous GC processes + the client.... becoz of contract terms... etc...
If EB3 candidates are eligible for EB2 porting, they MUST go for it...
If that is going to delay EB2, then so be it.... Its the right thing to do...

They are requiring them to transfer from L1 to H1 status for L1 extensions. This will also mean an opportunity for them to move on to better paying companies and green card sponsoring companies, when they get a H1B status. A list of well paying and greencard sponsoring companies can be found by googling for "h1b unsweatshop"
